Registration for Clinics
Check out our clinic options for 2025. We are bringing in top educators and professionals to introduce participants to cutting edge ideas and techniques to take their climbing to the next level. There will be clinics for everyone, regardless of whether this is your first climbing experience or if you are an accomplished alpinist. Clinic options are limited for Minors, and we are working on opening up access as much as possible. See the clinic descriptions below for age restrictions before processing registration. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied (for the duration of the clinic) by a legal guardian. Guardian must read and sign participation waiver. We highly recommend that you print, read, and sign the before arriving to your clinic. Forms will be available at the registration table for last minute registrations.
Pre-registration
Pre-registration is open online - look for links to the online store in the clinic descriptions below! Online registration will close at 10 p.m. on 4/9/25. If you have inquiries regarding clinic registration, email hayleyprine@weber.edu. Space is limited in the clinics, so be sure to register as soon as possible to ensure you can get your first choice!

GYM TO CRAG
Timing: Saturday 4/12/25 || 9am - 3pm
Location: 9th St Crag
Minors will need a guardian-signed waiver to participate. Participants must be 15 or older for this clinic.
Ready to take this outside?!! This clinic is designed for climbers who have experience climbing (preferably leading) in the gym and would really love to break into the glorious scene of sport climbing outdoors. Ogden has some awesome climbing crags and we would love to help get folks prepared to access these as competent and responsible members of the community. We will focus on anchor building and cleaning as well as etiquette, equipment and leave no trace principles. Please plan to bring a lunch or snacks that can be eaten on the go!
Necessary Equipment: Personal climbing gear (helmet, harness, rock shoes). Optional but helpful: belay device, locking and non locking carabiners, prusik loop(s) - sewn/manufactured or knotted cord loops, extra cordelette and/or slings of various lengths.

DRY TOOLING (Outdoor) - Collab

Curious about drytooling or looking to refine your technique? Join The Scratch Pad at the Ogden Climbing Festival for an Introduction to Drytooling Clinic—the perfect opportunity to step into this exciting sport or take your skills to the next level. Whether you're brand new to drytooling or already dabbling and eager to improve, our experienced instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of movement, technique, and tool placement in a supportive and fun environment. All drytooling gear will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own rock climbing shoes, harness, helmet, and gloves if they have them. Come ready to learn, challenge yourself, and discover a whole new way to climb!

Have you always been intrigued by the traditional climbing protection hanging behind the counter at the gear store? Do you want to take you climbing into the mountains where you don't have to follow a line of pre-drilled bolts to the anchor? Join our Trad Skills Intro clinic. Participants will learn about the different types of traditional protection available, when their use is appropriate, how to place them into the rock effectively, and how to build solid anchors.

ROOF RAPPEL

Take a step off the edge and commit! We are offering for folks to practice some rappelling with us and then take the plunge 60 ft up and rappel off of our roof. Participants will learn the basics of rappelling with a tube style rappel device, practice indoors and then head out to the roof for their big descent!
Prerequisites: Beginners Welcome

CANYONEERING ANCHORS

This clinic will focus on various types of anchors used in a canyoneering setting, with an emphasis on releasable, retrievable, and static anchors.
Pre-Requisites: Some rappel experience preferred
Necessary Equipment: All equipment provide, but you are welcome to bring your own gear and practice with it
