Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology
The Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology prepares students to understand and apply the theory of operation for vehicle systems and components. Graduates will demonstrate the correct use of specialized tools for diagnostics and repair, apply effective diagnostic and repair procedures and verify vehicle repairs.
To complete the Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology, students must take 15 credit hours of core courses, including Introduction to Automotive Technology, Advanced Automotive Technologies, Cooperative Practicum, Capstone Research Methods, Capstone Research and Development, and Business Communication. In addition, students must complete 24 credit hours of automotive electives, which may include topics such as advanced electrical systems, hybrid and electric vehicle technologies, fleet management, automotive business practices, emissions, safety systems, and alternative fuel systems. Students are also required to take 6 credit hours of support courses, choosing from subjects such as customer service techniques, sales planning, team leadership, ethical sales practices and sales presentation strategies.

Starting Salaries
